The Book

The Blueprint to Build Champion Athletes

Athlete Builder: The Blueprint to Build Champion Athletes is Jim Beebe's book on the six blocks every athlete is built from. Written for athletes, parents and coaches, from 13 years owning a facility and 50+ athletes on to college rosters. An Amazon bestseller, available now.

What the Book Actually Teaches

Champions get built. Nobody is born one. The book lays out how — not as motivation, but as a system you can run. It starts with your Why and your Core Values, because nothing else holds without them. Then it works through every block an athlete is made of, and ends with the part most books skip: how to turn all of it into a plan you actually follow, year, quarter, month, week and day.

Organized the Way an Athlete Is Built

The chapters follow the six blocks in order, three in the head and three in the body, then close with the planning system that ties them together. Each block ends the same way: the move. What to do this week, not someday. You can read it front to back, or go straight to the block your athlete is weakest in and start there. Both work. Most people do the second one.

Three in the Head

Mindset first: Why, identity, Core Values, decisions, limiting beliefs, confidence and pressure. Then Knowledge of your sport and your body. Then Teammates — mentors, your squad, and the people who carry you.

Three in the Body

Training: the pyramid, the formulas, strength, speed and power. Nutrition at the principles level — a process for fueling, not a diet. Recovery: sleep, cold, breathing, and what an injury can teach you.

Then the Plan

Annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, daily. How to score yourself, pick one target per block, and build the habit that moves it. The system, on paper, in your hand.

Who It Is For, and Who It Is Not

It is for the athlete who wants to get better and is tired of guessing what to work on. For the parent who wants to understand what development actually looks like instead of taking it on faith. For the coach who trains the body well and wants the other five blocks. It is not for anyone looking for a shortcut, a supplement stack, or a promise about scholarships. There are none in here. There is a lot of work, laid out in order.

What People Said About It

Nineteen coaches, athletes and leaders read this book before it went to print and put their names to it.

Mickey Marotti

Associate Athletics Director for Sport Performance, The Ohio State University

"Athlete Builder, The Blueprint to Build Champion Athletes provides the needed steps to develop high level athletes and teams. This book provides a comprehensive roadmap for athletes to closely follow and to maximize their athletic potential. This is a must read for those striving to be the best versions of themselves."

Chad Dockery

Director of Athletics, Reitz Memorial High School, Evansville, IN. 25X State Title Winners

"Jim Beebe has provided a blueprint for athletic success. So many times, athletes and coaches get "ideas" on training, accountability, nutrition and mental training. This is a blueprint to help develop a better athlete. This applies to those that are in educational settings and the athlete that is bettering themselves later in life. This book is a tool of learned best practices…put it into consistent use and you will be more prepared than your opponent come game time."

Dan Wenger

Director of Strength & Conditioning, Ball State University Football

"If you know Jim, you know his passion and genuine care for athlete development. He is an exceptional coach who takes a holistic approach in developing the total athlete. His knowledge in developing both the mind and body has not only allowed numerous athletes to prosper in their given sport and overall training goals, but in life as well."

Kyle Moran

USA Weightlifting National Coach; Manager of Health and Fitness, Special Olympics Indiana; Founder of the Moran Academy

"The Athlete Builder Blueprint is just that, a blueprint for developing the mental and physical traits to succeed at a high level. Through passionate, honest, and real-life stories of overcoming challenges, Jim answers the "how's" to becoming the best athlete you can become. It gives answers while holding the reader accountable to their choices. If you're a coach looking to help your athletes, an athlete wondering how to separate yourself from your peers, or looking to level up in life, this book is for you."

Devon McDonald

Athletes in Action Pro-NFL Chief of Staff to Chaplaincy / Four-year NFL Veteran

"Wow what a great resource. It is said only a fool learns only from their own experiences. Jim is a reservoir of practical and applicable wisdom. He has done his homework and has applied these principles in Athlete Builder: The Blueprint for Building Champion Athletes. … I have picked a few principles from this book to implement and go after them. I hope you will do the same enjoy."

What People Ask About the book

What format does the book come in?

It is sold through Amazon and Barnes & Noble, in paperback and Kindle. Whichever format you pick, the content is the same: every block, every worksheet, and the planning system at the end. Pair it with the Champion's Planner if you want to run it week by week.

Is it for a parent, or for the athlete?

Both, and it was written that way on purpose. The athlete gets the system. The parent gets the vocabulary — what the six blocks are, what development actually looks like, and what questions to ask a coach. Plenty of families read it together and argue about which block is weakest. That argument is the point.

How is the book different from the course?

Same system, two ways in. The book is the full text, every chapter, and you work it at your own pace with a pen. The course is the same material taught by Jim on video, block by block, for people who learn better by watching than by reading. Neither one requires the other.
