Athlete Builder, LLC ("Athlete Builder," "we," "us") runs athlete-builder.com, the Athlete Builder Scorecard, the Roster Read, the Two Minute Drill newsletter, the Athlete Builder podcast, our courses and our coaching services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Many of the people we serve are high school athletes. We take that seriously. The section on children and teens explains exactly how we handle information about anyone under 18.
This policy covers our website, our assessments, our emails, and any service that links to it. It does not cover other companies' sites, even when we link to them (for example, Amazon, where our book is sold).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for targeted advertising on other websites, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Our services are not meant for children under 13 to use on their own, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If a child under 13 wants to take the Scorecard, a parent or guardian registers with the parent's own name and email and sits with the child while they answer. The Roster Read is for athletes 13 and older. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without a parent's consent, we delete it promptly. A parent who believes this has happened can contact us at jim@athlete-builder.com.
We ask for a parent or guardian's email when an athlete under 18 takes the Scorecard. An athlete under 18 receives their own results, but any follow-up or marketing email goes to the parent, not the athlete. We do not send text messages to anyone under 18.
A parent or guardian signs the coaching agreement and is the contracting party. Parents can see all coaching communication with their athlete.
We never publish an athlete's name, photo, story or results without written permission. For anyone under 18, that permission comes from a parent or guardian. or guardian signs the coaching agreement and is the contracting party. Parents can see all coaching communication with their athlete.
At any time you can ask to see the information we hold about your child, ask us to correct or delete it, and tell us to stop collecting it. Email jim@athlete-builder.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If your coach or training facility gives you a team code, your results are shared with that coach or facility. They see the team's combined picture and may see individual athletes' scores, so they can coach each athlete. Written answers are shown to the coach without names attached.
We do not add athletes who use a team code to our marketing emails, and we do not market our services to a facility's athletes or families. Your only email from us is your results.
We share personal information only in these cases:
Service providers that run parts of our business for us, under contracts that limit their use of your information to serving us. They include our website, email and customer-management platform (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector), our assessment platform (ScoreApp), our payment processor (Stripe), our automation tool (Zapier), our email and file storage (Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace), and our video and recording tools (Zoom and Riverside).
Your coach or facility, when you take an assessment with their team code (see above).
A parent or guardian, for any athlete under 18.
The law: when required by law, legal process, or to protect someone's safety.
A business transfer: if Athlete Builder is sold or merged, your information may move to the new owner under this same policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We send marketing email, including the Two Minute Drill newsletter, only to people who signed up or asked for something from us. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor it within 10 business days. Even after you unsubscribe, we may still send messages about something you bought or booked, such as your results or a receipt.
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may text you about calls you booked or services you use. Message and data rates may apply, and how often we text depends on what you have booked. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything. We do not share or sell mobile numbers or text-message consent to anyone for their marketing, and we do not text anyone under 18.
